Dr. Vinita Menon
I’m a psychologist and coach and I understand the cultural nuances and conflicts that Indian women face. You’ll receive guidance that is culturally sensitive and relevant to your specific circumstances. I’m the Indian friend offering you the affirming support you wish your parents had given you.
Your story is my story.
I never felt comfortable talking about myself or asking for something I needed.
It took a lot of searching and more than a few tears to figure out my own path. These are core beliefs that I had to unlearn and update. It was hard but critical work to create a bridge between how I was raised and the world in which I was expected to succeed.
I earned the feelings of security and confidence, but IT WAS HARD. I wish I had someone to tell me it would be ok. I wouldn’t have believed them and I would have needed proof. People have given me compliments that continue to surprise me. “You’re more secure than I am.” “You’re so patient/calm.” “You’re a go-getter.” At the end of the day, what we think or believe about ourselves is what matters most…. No one else needs to have that power, but you. You can take back the power of your life.
